SCC riders take on the Rake & Inter Club Hill Climb events 13th October

On Sunday the 13th of October SCC members were in action taking on the Rake & Inter Club Hill climb events.

Adam Dillon rode in the Rake hill climb competition in Ramsbottom, the only Southport CC rider to take part after myself and Martin pulled out. On a difficult, wet, slippy course and fallen leaves he did an excellent 3.25 to come 3rd overall in the youth section. It was good turn of from those watching and luckily the predicted rain held off until the event had finished.

Mean while on the same day Joe Wilson and Tom Sparks raced at the inter club hill climb event on Ashurst, with Joe setting a 7.04.7 and Tom a 7.19.9. Like the previous week’s hill climb event the course was wet and had road signs out due to the burst water main a being repaired a third of the way up, which may explain the reduced numbers signing on along with the predicted rain. Any pictures of the event would be welcome.
